Designing with ICFs is easy. The product is relatively flexible and armed with knowledge of a few basic rules of engagement most buildings can be designed and detailed without extraordinary familiarity with the product. ICF products are well documented and suppliers can provide detailed manuals. The Insulating Concrete Form Association and the Portland Cement Association publish documents that acquaint Architects with most of the product features they need to do their work.
A growing number of architects now have experience working with IDFs or basic knowledge of them. The independent web site www.icfweb.com includes a listing of architects in its directory of professionals.
